If you love cycling then Anglesey will tick all your boxes! As well as lots of areas for rural cycling Anglesey also has so many roads that have amazing coastal views.

National Cycling Route 8

National Cycling Route 8 (NCR 8) is part of the United Kingdom National Cycle Network. National Cycling Route 8 is the section that travels from Cardiff to Holyhead. The route passes through the heartland of Wales and is also known as Lon Las Cymru, translated as Wales’ Blue Lane.

Newborough Forest is an amazing place to cycle through, there are literally miles of roads and paths that are clearly marked to help guide you through this area of Outstanding National Beauty.

At the end of many of the paths you can find an absolutely stunning beach.

Anglesey Rural Cycling Network

The Anglesey Rural Cycling Network currently has 2 Circular Cycling Routes at the moment, but we are sure there will be more in the future with this popular pastime.

Lon Las Copr - Copper Trail

Lon Las Cefni - Cefni Trail

Which travels from the coastal village of Malltraeth to the Cefni Reservoir.

This is classed as an easy / medium route and is 11 miles in total taking in some of Anglesey’s most picturesque rural scenery.

Tour de Mon - Tour of Anglesey

The Tour de Mon is a spectacular cycle race that goes around the whole of Anglesey. This race is now firmly established in Anglesey’s yearly calendar of events here. Attracting in the region of 1400 cyclists, that starts and finishes from Newry beach in Holyhead.

Cycling the Anglesey Coastal Path

The Anglesey Coastal Path comprises of 12 sections that circumnavigate the stunning Isle of Anglesey.

It is possible to cycle many of the sections by cycle.

Places like Newborough Forest are a fantastic place to cycle with miles of reasonable tracks to cycle on with just the sound of the wind blowing through the Corsican Pine trees.
