Criccieth
Criccieth is a beautiful seaside resort town on the Cardigan Bay on the Southern side of the Llyn Peninsula in the county of Gwynedd.
Popular for it majestic castle looking out to sea and its famous ice cream parlour Cadwaladers it is close to nearby tourist towns of Porthmadog, Pwllheli and the Italianate village of Portmeirion.
Criccieth Castle
Criccieth Castle dominates this area of coastline, built on a high mound of rock between two beautiful beaches.
This beautiful Welsh castle, unlike many of the other Welsh castles was built by the Welsh to protect Wales.
It was built by Llywelyn the Great of the kingdom of Gwynedd, but was heavily modified following its capture by English forces of Edward I in the late 13th century.
